not necessary.

Muay Thai Kickboxing is a unique blend of a 2000-year old martial art with a rich
tradition, powerful and spectacular full-contact ring sport and one of the most
effective strength-endurance and cardiovascular workouts you can find. The
originators of Muay Thai were ancient Thai warriors that tested it’s effectiveness
on the battlefields and, later, in the ring. Today the Royal Thai Army, as well as
members of US NAVY SEALS and CIA, use it for unarmed combat training.
Muay Thai is famous for it’s explosive kicks, powerful knee and elbow strikes, as
well as its boxing arsenal along with standing wrestling and throws. All of the
body’s natural tools are utilized to create an effective and efficient weapon. The
Thai system of unarmed combat and the conditioning it required for its success
are unparalleled for people of all sizes, both males and females.

You will learn punching, kicking, kneeing, elbowing, clinching and throwing
applications and then apply them in progressively more challenging drills and
exercises designed to make your fighting reflexes a second nature. Sparring is
for intermediate and advanced students only and it is optional.

The class incorporates a variety of equipment including, but not limited to Thai
pads, focus mitts, belly shields, kicking shields, dummies, banana bags, clinch
bags, boxing bags, jumping ropes and other equipment.

Combat Muay Thai classes are taught by Greg Mihovich with over 10 years of
training and 6 years of teaching experience, as well is over a dozen full contact
Muay Thai, San Da and boxing fights under his belt.

Recommended gear: shorts, t-shirt, mandatory
